Anastasia Apodiakou , Ph.D. candidate
Born in Athens, Anastasia was always in love with nature and science. When she was 18 she decided to combine both and study Plant Biotechnology in the Agricultural university of Athens. A couple of years after completing her BSc studies,  she moved to Crete to continue with her MSc studies on horticultural genetics and biotechnology and fell in love with the island! Huge natural variation, many plant species, mountains, beaches, sceneries, friendly and nice people, smiles everywhere, everything perfect! Although infatuated by the island, she managed to complete her studies and she is currently a PhD candidate in Max Planck institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in Germany. Anastasia is planning to continue following her passion studying and working with plants, as well as to return to Crete one day, which she always keeps in her heart.
